Why did we make certain flavors for our Costco US multipacks?
Now that we’re back on Costco US shelves, we wanted to take a moment to go into some of our decisions made regarding our American Costco multipacks over the years. We’ve been in Costco US since 2020 and have certainly learnt and grown a lot since our first release overseas.
We are proud of all of our multipacks that have been on Costco US shelves and are excited to see what everyone thinks of our flavors this time around in 2023. We put a lot of time and research into deciding what flavors we will include in our multipacks, and you may be wondering why some have been picked and why we have offered some flavors exclusively to the US. Well let’s take a look at some of our most notable Costco US multipack flavors and why we picked them:
Orange N’ Cream
One of our most popular US flavors that encouraged us to step out of our comfort zone. We picked Orange N’ Cream because we were inspired by the Orange Creamsicle! Our founder Cass Spies recalls visiting the US with her father as a kid and eating one for the first time, ultimately inspiring her thinking behind our Orange N’ Cream flavor!
Strawberry Shortcake
A classic delicious flavor that really can do no wrong. We picked the flavor strawberry shortcake because we were inspired by the classic American strawberry shortcake dessert and liked that it was something new and untraditional for us down under. Did you know that the first recorded recipe for strawberry shortcake was in Pennsylvania, USA 1847 in a cookbook called "Miss Leslie's Ladies Receipt Book"? It was referred to as “strawberry cake” in this cookbook but it was the earliest documented recipe that was the most similar to what we know as strawberry shortcake today.
Blueberry Lemon Cheesecake
One of the flavors in our newest Costco US multipack that perfectly balances sweet and sour. We picked blueberry lemon cheesecake because we were inspired by the cheesecake factory and all of its delicious flavor offerings. We thought, if cheesecake is popular how can we add our own zesty spin to it? Then walks in blueberry lemon for a perfect balance of sweet and sour to round out the creaminess of the cheesecake – once we taste tested it, we couldn’t resist putting this flavor on the shelf!
