May’s Twisted Sista | Victoria Mills | Life Coach

For May’s Twisted Sista, we bring you the extraordinary Victoria Mills; Life Coach and Business Mentor. Victoria is an advocate for women in business, a champion of positive change and all round super coach. We talk to her about being a #GirlBoss and the challenges she’s faced along the way.

What was your dream job as a kid and why?

I used to dream about making fairies in the world that would make people feel happy. I would draw fairies all the time with and give them their own names that would be guardian angels for people i thought needed cheering up!

What made you start your own business? Have you always had that Girl Boss Hustle? Or was it something that you grew into?

I was born into a family with an entrepreneurial backbone. My grandfather had a few retail stores and I saw my mother and my family work really hard. This gave me a strong work ethic if I job had to be done you just did it. I then watched my mother carve out a career in retail and business management and she had a really special way of managing her staff. I saw her lead with grace blended with assertiveness to empower her team to create success. She was definitely one of my greatest mentors.

When I had my baby I really wanted to do something in my life that would inspire others and create a life I could balance being a working mum. I always had a passion for personal development. I studied for several years and discovered I had a knack for understanding what drives and motivates people. I really loved listening and guiding people. I studied further and launched my business when my son was a toddler and have not looked back. After working with thousands of women now for 2 decades helping them build more balanced lives, growing their ideas and passions into thriving businesses it fills my heart with immense gratitude being witness to their extraordinary lives, bravery and courage going after their dreams.

What do you know now, that you wish you knew when you were younger?

Never give up on your dreams. It’s easy for people to judge from the sidelines who have not walked in your shoes. However only take advice from those who have put themselves out there in the “arena of life” and played big. At the end of the day the most important opinion is that of your own voice and that you trust you.

Name one main goal that you have for all your clients.

Love who they are. Live each day on their terms. Build a life and business they love. Make a difference (ok that’s 4 things!)

What do you love the most about being a supercoach?

I have the fortunate job of guiding women, being an advocate and cheerleader for them whilst they go after what seems the impossible. I am in a privileged position to witness the lives of inspiring women. Their pain. Their joy. Their challenges. Their triumphs. I get to co-pilot each milestone in their lives.

Tell us about another #GirlBoss who has inspired you.

Cass inspires me. Her determination and resilience in never giving up believing in her brand and the difference she strives to make in the lives of thousands of people to give them awesome quality products. It’s built from heart. It’s the epicentre of Twisted and her team.

If you were a Twisted frozen yoghurt flavour, what would you be?

Definitely the salted caramel and chocolate! Our lives are blended with highs and lows….there are twists and turns and sometimes the best thing is to flow….and eat yummy yoghurt!

Have you had any major setbacks whilst running your business? if so, how did you bounce back?

I was diagnosed with a serious life threatening illness when my son was 4. I was forced into taking leave when I was 2 years into running my company. In hindsight I was trying to do too much too soon and didn’t ask for help. It was the greatest turning point. It was during this time I developed a series of core distinctions that helped create new ways of behaviour including healing my own body of a disease. I have been in remission for over 10 years and it was the greatest gift looking back. I have gone on to use this formula to help hundreds of clients as a fool proof model to create success in achieving goals, having balance and being victorious no matter what the circumstance.

How would your BFF describe you?

Tenacious. Brave. Real. She doesn’t give up.

If you could share a glass of wine with anyone (famous, not famous, living or dead) who would it be and why?

Richard Branson. He is real. Unpretentious. He thinks outside the square. Challenges the status quo and champions people to make a difference. He is a superhero in my books.
